There is anecdotal evidence that the banning of traditional ammunition would have an adverse impact on government bureaucrat populations. - Tam

I'm a gun owner, 2nd Amendment supporter & a public figure but....
April 19, Patriot's Day. The day most commonly associated with the shot that was heard round the world. April 19, the day a tyrannical government decided to torture children by steadily increasing the use of CS (tear gas) on helpless victims devoid of gas masks that would ultimately end with their deaths at the hands of the ATF and the FBI. April 19, the day the largest resistance by the Jews against the Nazi's began. April 19, the day a vile human being used a day steeped in noble resistance to commit a horrid act of terrorism against innocents. April 19, the day when people met in Washington D.C. to voice their support of the 2nd Amendment and in Virginia to exercise their right and voice their opinion in regards to their right to keep and bear arms.
And that brings me to one Mr John Ulett. John Ulett or the U Man as he is sometimes known is a long time KSHE DJ having been with the station continously since 1976. John wrote a short blog post on his questionable support of the 2nd Amendment.
I am not certain if John is aware of these other significant historical events. Furthermore, I am not certain if he is aware that it is a crime for a citizen to carry openly or concealed an sort of firearm in the nation's capital. Either way, thanks, but no thanks Mr Ulett, your lukewarm support of the 2nd Amendment is something I and others can do without. You silly Fudd.

#1) I am a supporter of the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I am a gun owner. I am considering getting a conceal and carry permit. I am not afraid Barak Obama is gonna come and take my guns and anyone who thinks so or spreads that rumor has nothing to base it on. He's done nothing as President to do anything like that. He's even said so. Granted, he is not a supporter of gun rights but he's said. He doesn't want to take away your damn guns. With that, I want to say, for right wing nut gun owners to protest in Washington with their guns in tow on the day of the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing is a sickening act of Anti-Americanism. If you have any respect for our fellow citizens who died or were maimed in that horrendous domestic terrorist attack, you would not, ON THAT ANNIVERSARY, have marched with your gun to protest the U.S. government. There is a time and a place for a protest. The anniversary of the worst domestic terrorist attack on our country was NOT the day. The right wingers are losing touch with reality. Don't be among them. Let common sense prevail.

MO State Representative Cynthia Davis answers the Gun Rights Questionnaire
Previously The Gun Rights Questionnaire has been sent to Senator Scott Rupp and he provided his answers here. IN August, a GOP primary will be held for the seat now held by Senator Rupp. His opponent at this time is MO State Representative Cynthia Davis. She answers the Gun Rights Questionnaire.
Here is my reply to your questionnaire:
1. Do you believe that the Constitution is the "supreme law of the land"
and that the Bill of Rights acknowledges our birthrights?
Yes. The constitution is the only document sparing us from full blown
socialism. I love the way the constitution was written believe every
word was put into it for a very good reason.
2. If so, should these rights be pro actively protected from
infringement by all levels of government, including city, county and
state?
Yes. The national government has an insatiable appetite for power and
will always seek to encroach ever more on wrenching power away from the
citizens. Sorry to sound cynical, but just observe history.
3. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider constitutional.
Any law that restricts a persons natural rights without due process.
The right to defend ones person and property from unjust use or seizure
is a natural and fundamental right.
4. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider unconstitutional.
Requiring innocent citizens to get permits. The bad guys don't need
permits.
5. Does the right to bear arms include the right for any peaceable
citizen to carry them concealed without a permit, as in Vermont?
Yes.
6. Do you believe that Americans have a right to own, use and carry
weapons of military pattern, and will you use the prestige of elected
office to publicly promote that right?
Yes. Switzerland is a great example. I have been told that nearly every
household has a gun and that most men are required to serve in the
military as well as keep a weapon in their homes in good working order in
case of emergency.
7. Do you support or oppose registration of weapons?
Oppose
Why? It doesn't mean anything. Evil governments can use this to disarm
their citizens. It happened to my grandfather right before they began
the genocide and killed his father and all his brothers and sisters. See
my Capitol Report: http://www.cynthiadavis.net/PDFs/cpr100304.htm
8. Do you support or oppose licensing requirements to own or carry
firearms?
I oppose the licensing requirements because they have turned a right into
a privilege. However, I got my "Concealed Carry Weapon" permit for
philosophical reasons. I want to have the ability to carry a gun should
I desire to do so. I also want my county sheriff and all the law
enforcement officers to know that there is a lot of demand for such a
popular product. People need to be able to protect themselves.
9. What specific gun laws will you work to get repealed?
I have filed three bills this session pertaining to firearms:
HB1232 removes language that prohibits guns in churches.
HB1239 extends the length of time a concealed weapon permit is valid. I
would have liked to have made this a lifetime permit, like they have in
Indiana, but thought we could do it one piece at a time.
HB1230 is "The Missouri Firearms Freedom Act"---This language is largely
borrowed from Montana. I figured if it worked in Montana, it should be
good here as well. It says that what is made in Missouri in the way of
guns and ammunition cannot be subjected to national government so long as
it stays in Missouri.
10. If elected, will you back your words of support for firearms rights
up with consistent actions? How?
I have been endorsed of the NRA several times for having an "A" rating.
I also send out an e-mail every week helping to shape the conscience of
my constituents. Please see this one because it will show you what I
have been doing: http://www.cynthiadavis.net/PDFs/cpr091105.htm
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Sincerely,
Representative Cynthia Davis
Mrs. Davis appears to be in support of our Second Amendment rights. Mrs. Davis has filed legislation pertaining to protecting and expanding our natural right to defense. She does put her money where her mouth is.

MO state senator Scott Rupp ansswers the Gun Rights Questionaire
David Codrea can't do it alone and has asked others to hold accountable our elected officials. This August, MO will hold a republican primary for the seat held by incumbent Scott Rupp. I e-mailed Scott Rupp and his GOP opponent State Representative Cynthia Davis the Gun Rights Questionnaire. So far, only Senator Rupp has responded, this after a second attempt to glean answers from both candidates. Without further preamble, here are the Senator's answers
1. Do you believe that the Constitution is the "supreme law of the land"
and that the Bill of Rights acknowledges our birthrights?
Yes. It is the foundation of this country and the supreme law of the land.
2. If so, should these rights be proactively protected from infringement
by all levels of government, including city, county and state?
Yes. No level of government is exempt from the freedoms granted to citizens in the constitution.
3. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider constitutional.
Conceal and Carry, The Castle Doctrine
4. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider unconstitutional.
National registries trigger locks, ammunition registries.
Yes citizens have a right to own, use and carry firearms and infantry weapons and I have supported that right over my last 7 years in public office.
7. Do you support or oppose registration of weapons? Why?
I support a voluntary registering of weapons for theft recovery and insurance purposes. A mandatory registration of weapons is not needed, has not reduced gun crimes or gun safety accidents. As history has shown, the first way to take away the rights of the people is to confiscate all weapons and ability for individuals to defend themselves.
8. Do you support or oppose licensing requirements to own or carry
firearms?
Why?
I have supported and voted for the Conceal Carry Law in Missouri that is now law. I believe we have the right under the constitution to carry weapons, and this is consistent with the framers beliefs and promotes personal responsibility and self defense.
9. What specific gun laws will you work to get repealed?
I believe the inability to purchase guns out of state and then bring them home to Missouri is something that is a burden on gun owners that is permitted on all other purchased items.
I also feel that we need to disallow the over collection if information on permit applications by local entities. There should be a minimal and uniform application by all counties in Missouri.
10. If elected, will you back your words of support for firearms rights
up with consistent actions? How?
Yes. I have done that with several votes during my years in the Missouri House and Senate. I have actively campaigned and promoted my 2nd Amendment beliefs and I am proud of the rights granted to us by the founding fathers. I will continue to promote our 2nd amendment rights in speeches, legislation and by voting for gun rights issues before me in the Senate as I have done for the past 7 years.
________
Again, thank you for your questions and I hope you have a great week ahead.
Respectfully,
Senator Scott T. Rupp
Thank you Senator for providing answers to these questions. In response to the idea of a voluntary registry, I would say that it would be incomplete and therefore practically useless. It is up to gun owners to keep track of their firearms and should the need to report a theft arise, the pertinent information may be forwarded to the proper authorities, but not required. When I receive Representative Davis' reply, I shall post that as well.

Shooting Range Bleg
I work fairly close to Adventure Shooting Sports, Guns & Hummers. They are in the process of applying for permission to set up a shooting range on their property. They had a petition to show support at their counter when I was in there this evening. Please if you live in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, go in and sign your name. If you know someone in the area, tell them about it and urge them to sign the petition. They do have the fact that the Chesterfield Police Department has their own private range, 500 yards down the road from the Lynch property going for them.

St. Louis County is doing it for the children
St. Louis county chairwoman Barbara Fraser set aside legislation that has many gun rights activists concerned over an obviously illegal measure. Mo state law gives very little power to local jurisdictions over how they may regulate the right to keep and bear arms. The only areas that local entities may set law is where a weapon is discharged and where it may be carried.
There are a number of parts to the bill. The one dealing with guns is thus;
-- "Intentionally or recklessly storing or leaving a loaded firearm or an unloaded firearm and ammunition within the reach or easy access of a child unless such weapon is secured in a locked container or equipped with a tamper-resistant safety device so as to render the weapon inoperable by anyone other than the lawfully authorized user emphasis mine
Lawfully authorized user? What law authorizes me to use a weapon? Kurt Hoffman asks a similiar question about the legality of seeking permission to exercise our natural to defend ourselves and the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Does St. Louis county really wish to enforce something that will ulimately be rejected by the courts?

A new place for earworms
My friend, Curt, whom I have the pleasure of crewing for on his RX-7 when he goes racing is getting his own radio show. Tuesdays from 10 am to noon. You can listen live if you live in the St. Louis area or stream it via the intrawebz if you're not from around these parts.

Awwww isn't the anti cute? Trying to make a point
I know enough not to feed internet trolls. But I can't help myself. Mo Rage, has provided me with some good chuckles.
He blogged about the recent shooting here in the St. Louis area. He called me out as being for the right to own an 'assault weapon' Yes I am for that right. However, this reply to commenter Sevesteen is too funny not to bring to the light of day.
So he wishes to ban the .38 special because it is solely designed for holding up various people. And it kills an estimated 10,000 people per year. So .38 special bad, .357 magnum, ok? I can imagine the Winchester .38 Special Ad, The Stick Up Round. Good for liquor stores, convenience stores and muggings. Not recommended for bank heists. Also, 'assault weapons,' not to put too fine a point on it, but I drive an 'assault' station wagon. It's ton plus of weight would work just fine in running someone over. And hollow point armor piercing bullets as well are mentioned. In all but the lightest weight body armor would a hollow point bullet be stopped. The Cop Killer bullet of Lethal Weapon fame is a myth.
My view of the world isn't shaped like some cheap network TV show either. it's shaped by knowing that someone, somewhere out there doesn't value my life as much as me. When I meet that person, I intend to give a good accounting of myself. I pray to live a long, relatively stress free life, but you never know.

I think it's only important to ban the 38 special, which kills, it's estimated 10,000 Americans each year and is almost solely designed for this purpose (holdups, to use a term), assault weapons, as I mentioned earlier, and hollow point, armor-piercing bullets, at the request of the police departments, nationwide, for their protection and safety.
Pretty radical, huh?
Yes, I think the 2nd Amendment puts some restrictions on the government, as other parts of our Constitution does, sure. I don't think it's relevant to most people's everyday lives but sure, yes.
My view of the world isn't shaped, like some cheap network TV show, by guns, day in and day out. I tire of the whole outlook. It's silly. It's absurd. It's not how most of us live, even here, in the US, where we have this ignorant, too-violent "cowboy culture".

Missouri HB 1232
This is a bill that is garnering a lot of attention due to the fact that it comes from Cynthia Davis (R)-MO of the 19th District. For those of you that don't know who she is, she garnered some attention by stating that, "hunger can be a powerful motivator."
HB 1232 deals with a Missourian's (lack of a) right to carry inside a church or a place of worship. The text is thus;
HB 1232 -- Unlawful Use of Weapons
Sponsor: Davis
Currently, an individual commits the crime of unlawful use of
weapons if he or she knowingly carries a firearm or other weapon
into any church or place of worship. This bill removes this
provision and allows any individual who is lawfully allowed to
possess the firearm or weapon to openly carry it into these
places.
To my everyday untrained eye, it seems to me that openly carrying your weapon is the only way to carry inside a church. In Representative Davis' own city of O'Fallon, open carry is specifically prohibited. In fact, Missouri law allows for open carry, but does not preempt open carry at the state level. Instead, it is left up to the individual municipalities to decide on their own. Representative Davis is a concealed carry permit holder and thus may carry concealed where it is legal to do so.
Now for me, I'd like to see open carry be state preempted here in Missouri. I also believe that by crossing the threshold of a place of worship that somehow God's or your gods hand will protect you is bogus. My god helps those who help themselves.

Misssouri Mayors join Bloomberg's coalition
Mayor Francis Slay of the city of St. Louis and Mayor Harold Dielmann of Creve Coeur are both signed on to this. The mayor's of both Kansas City MO and Kansas City KS are as well. Those two cities are closely tied socially and economically. I already know of Mayor Slay's position I e-mailed the Creve Couer mayor, the honorable Harold Dielmann to verify his involvement with Bloomberg's anti gun coalition. The text of my inquiry was this;
Mayor, I am writing to confirm that you are part of this group. I see that Creve Couer is on the list posted at the organizations website. I look forward to your reply. Best regards,
His reply through some intermediary, one Laverne Collins, was thus;
Subject: Yes. I am with you. H. L. D. Creve Coeur. Mo *
* note edited to remove my identification
Nothing in the body of the message and it was sent via crackberry. Funny how he assumes I agree with Bloomberg's group. There's a gun show Saturday. I intend to spread the word of his being part of this group.
Mayor's Slay and Dielmann, you are both in my geographic front yard. You both need to be ousted from office.

Yeah,
I've been living under a rock now for awhile. The Gun Rights Policy Conference will be in my neck of the woods in late September. A BIG H/T to Joe I will be attending this, as my last time in owning a firearm was more about destroying evil circles on paper. I didn't give much thought to what allowed me to do own a firearm. Now, as I've gotten older and really started paying attention to the culture & politics in our country, I feel the need to be active. If you're planning on attending, don't forget to sample 'The Hill' which has some of the finest Italian cuisine in the country.
