The protest that wasn't

This past weekend the NRA successfully wrapped up it's most attended convention ever with a total attendance of 73,740 peaceably armed citizens (except for the fact that America's Center has a no weapons policy.)

In contrast, this video shows what I count to be seven people in city hall holding a press conference to announce a protest to be held on the grounds of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

That's a ratio of 10,534 to 1.

When I searched for 'NRA Protest Arch Grounds' nary a return came up, and instead more links for the above video.   I received the digital equivalent of crickets.

Of course maybe once the protesters realized that H.R. 627 allowed folks to go armed according to state firearms laws, they wet their pants in fear.

Winning - one piece of legislation at a time

Yesterday was Missouri's Gun Rights Rally Day .  We are marching toward codifying our natural rights, and those who advocate gun control are shriveling away to insignificance.  Witness this;

QOTD - Daniel

"Is that a condo or a safe?"

-Daniel
Kirkwood MO

The quote is in reference to the 10 ft tall 3ft deep , 2 ton, not quite $15K,  300 gun capacity  safe featured at this year's NRA convention.

The mirrors make it seem more roomy

They build & sell two a month.  And the antis want you to believe gun ownership is on the decline.  Not if folks are purchasing these to secure their collections.

CRKT Eat'n Tool - Long Term review

One of the nifty things I picked up this weekend at the NRA Annual Meetings & Convention was CRKT's Eat'N Tool.  It is a fork and spoon, or spork, as well as a bottle opener, screw driver. It also has three metric wrench sizes for emergency repairs.

While I carry a knife and multi tool for various tasks, I usually rely on silver or plastic ware to convey food to my mouth.  But, what if one had to rely on this piece?  Your fingers can only take you so far.  To that end, I am going to eat exclusively with my Eat'N Tool for four days, beginning today and going through Friday. I will be using a pocket knife to cut with, but for spooning and stabbing sustenance, the Eat'N Tool will be my utensil of choice.  Yes, dear readers, I am going to brave spills and dropped food to feed my not insubstantial self.

Good thing my clothes don't require dry cleaning, this could get messy.

Missouri Gun Rights Rally Day

Currently there is legislation working it's way through the Missouri legislature.

One bill would allow peaceably armed citizens to store firearms in their cars, even if a property owner objects, and the second would create a special class for firearms owners, much like those created because of race, sex, religiion, etc.

The Missouri Shooting Sports Association is calling for a Rally Day this Wednesday April 18th at 10 am.  The event will be held at the Capital building.

If you can, please make plans to attend and let our Missouri legislators know they won't be able to hold onto the people's seats unless they support this legislation.

NRA Convention

I knew it was something special. I had no idea how many polite, excited people you could fit into The America's Center in downtown St. Louis.  I'll have more later, oh, and back to blogging.   I know I'm jut one off key voice out there in a sea of superstar bloggers.  But, I'm gonna shout it out from the rooftops.

QOTD

A government is an entity which holds the monopolistic right to initiate force.
- Found at Sipsey Street

God forbid, it should happen, but what if the government that holds that right didn't like the sign bearer's identity politics and was willing to initiate said force?  Would they bleat like a sheep advocating their idea then?
